Southside Place Community Garden

It’s time to plant shrubs in the habitat garden! Join us Saturday Feb 8 beginning at 2pm to plant some big shrubs and tress in the front and side gardens. The bed prep labor is complete (donated by Thompson & Hanson & Ms. Kay Browning of Jardin St.). What we have to do is install the shrubs, trees and perennials. Bring your gloves and shovels and wheelbarrows, if you have them. You will get dirty! Refreshments will be provided.

Come to our next wine & cheese tasting party in the Mullen’s lovely home and garden, 3781 Garnet. A mellow get-together with your neighbors. A sommelier from Divino Italian Restaurant will be pouring wine. Buy what you like (to be picked up later at Divino). Tickets are $20. A percentage of the proceeds from the wine sale will be donated to the garden.

Next meeting is scheduled for on the lot. Harvesting lettuce, arugula, radishes, etc. Meeting every other Saturday 2pm from now on!

36 members and fans of the Southside Place Community garden turned out October 27 at the Union Kitchen on Bellaire Blvd. It was a perfect evening on the patio.  Thank you Michael Williams and The Union Kitchen for your generous support!    

The Union Kitchen is sponsoring a 3-course farmers’ market inspired dinner to benefit the Southside Place Community Garden. Tickets are $75 per person.
